Lingg:
was
born in
the Bregenzerwald region of Austria in 1964. Since the completion of his
studies at the International Center of Photography in New York, he has
worked as a freelance photographer and has had numerous exhibitions in Austria
and other countries. The most recent of his many books are Walking with
the Stars. Three Pilgrimage Routes: Route of St. James – Kailash –
Qoyllur Rit`i (Text: Susanne Schaber, 2004) and In Stone (Text: Susanne

Susanne Schaber: was born in Innsbruck in 1961. She studied German and English literature, has worked as a dramatic advisor and editor, and now is a literary critic and author in Vienna. She has written articles for ORF, NZZ, FAZ and the Frankfurter Rundschau; texts for exhibitions; and numerous books, including Walking with the Stars. Three Pilgrimage Routes: Route of St. James – Kailash – Qoyllur Rit`i (photographs: Christoph Lingg, Vienna, 2004), Herr Hofer und sein Hosenträger – Tiroler Gratwanderungen (Vienna, 2006), and Wien – Ein Reisebegleiter (Frankfurt/Main, 2007).
Richard
Swartz:
was born in Stockholm in
1945. After studying in Stockholm and Prague, he was the Eastern
European correspondent of the Swedish daily newspaper Svenska
Dagbladet for more than thirty years. He is the author of numerous
books that have been translated into many different languages. His works
available in English include Room Service (1996) and A House
in Istria (2001).
Serhij
Zhadan:
was
born in the Luhansk region of eastern Ukraine in 1974. He studied German
literature and wrote his doctoral dissertation on Ukrainian Futurism.
Since 1991 he has been one of the leading figures of the young cultural
scene in Kharkiv. Of his many books, those translated into German
include Geschichte der Kultur zu Anfang des Jahrhunderts (2006)
and Depeche Mode(2007).
